About Lisa Taylor
I was born and raised in Ellensburg. I graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1986 and then went on to CWU where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1990. I also have a Master's Degree which I received in 1995 from Heritage University. In the Fall of 1988 Susan Kelleher invited me to come to Kittitas to do my September Experience in her first grade classroom. I immediately fell in love with the Kittitas School District and knew that I wanted to teach here! This year marks my 20th year of teaching second grade! I absolutely love this grade level. The kids are always so enthusiastic about school and learning new things!
I am married to Jay and we have 2 boys, P.J. (6th grade) and Jack (4th grade). I love spending time with my family. We enjoy riding four-wheelers, watching movies, going to the beach, and baseball! We are big Mariners fans...some day they will be World Series Champions!
I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful husband and family as well as the best job in the world!
Mission Statement
My mission is to provide each child with the opportunity to learn in a structured yet nurturing environment. I want my students to be challenged while having fun at the same time. I want my students to enjoy their experiences in my room and go home each night excited about the day's events. I believe each child has the potential to reach any goal they set for themselves in life. As their teacher if I can help my students achieve their goals and make even a small impact on their lives, I feel I have done my job.
