About LuAnn Jensen
I moved to the Kittitas Valley in 1996 from Wisconsin to attend C.W.U. I graduated from C.W.U. with my Bachelor’s degree in K-8 Elementary Education and a minor in K-12 Special Education. From 2001-2004, I enjoyed teaching second grade. While teaching second grade, I earned a degree through C.W.U. in Teaching English as a Second Language. In 2004, I took on a position as a Reading Coach for a K-2 school and continued that for three years. In 2006, I graduated from C.W.U. with a Master’s degree in Reading. In 2007, I took a position here in Kittitas, teaching K-5 Special Education. In 2009, I took the position I am in now, teaching 5th grade. My love for teaching has only grown with each teaching opportunity.
I met my husband, who has lived in the Kittitas Valley his whole life, during my first year at C.W.U. Greg and I have two beautiful children. We have a 5 year old son, who attends school here, and a 1 1/2 year old daughter. We enjoy working and playing outside, gardening, traveling, and camping together.
Mission Statement
My goal is to provide all children access to the curriculum. Each child deserves the opportunity to learn in a way that works for them. My job is to help them find that way and give them the tools to become successful life long learners.
