About Mandy  Ambrose

I moved to the Ellensburg area in the Fall of 1993, to attend C.W.U. (Go Wildcats!) This is where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. I have one son, Reilly, a fifth grader at Kittitas Elementary. Reilly and I both enjoy playing and watching sports a lot...especially football! We are also currently enjoying our new Pug puppy, who's named Puma. She's a doll! I have taught Kindergarten, first grade, 6-12 grade special education, and now third grade. I am also the High C teacher here at Kittitas Elementary. I enjoy teaching immensely, and I can't imagine doing anything else! It must be in the blood, as my mother was a teacher, coach, and principal. My father was an English teacher for his entire 30 years in education.

Mission Statement

My philosophy of teaching is to facilitate learning with high expectations and firm limits in a caring way. I firmly believe that children live up to...or down to...our expectations. It is my job to equip students with the skills and knowledge to reach those expectations. I realize that all students do not learn the same way, nor do they enter a grade at the same skill levels or with the same background and experiences. This is what makes teaching rewarding and challenging! The steps and strategies used to teach each student, will not always be the the same. This being said, I will use every tool and tactic I know to help students reach their goals. What is my mission as teacher? Students should never be more excited about learning something new than I am. I truly value the opportunity to be a life-long learner, and I convey my enthusiasm for learning each and every day.
